I have found out in some of my family research that a relative worked at a company called AERIALITE, and it was addressed as Castle Works, Stalybridge. Does anyone know where this company was, and if it has gone, when did it go? The only detail I have come across suggests it was a very large company but I have no address reference.

I have just the basic information, but anyone who lived in Stalybridge in the 50s, 60s, and 70s would have more knowledge.
On a modern map of Stalybridge, Tescos was built on the land occupied by the Aerialite. and Armentierres Square was their car park and was then culverted over the canal.
By the time the site was demolished before Tescos was built it was then called Delta Enfield Cables. Try Googling for information on this company.
I did one week's work experience at the company in 1979 as part of a secretarial course.

Thank you Gay for the information, and I have now located the site via Google Maps etc which helps in understanding where family members both worked and lived. The relative worked in that company around 1949/50, their church and their home was quite close too.
