I'm looking for the baptism of a John Worsnip from Mossley about 1804. Also his marriage to a Mary about 1828. Which church/chapel records would be relevant? Can anybody help please.

Hello Hollyberry,
Just checking if your John Worsnip was living at Wood End at Lydgate in 1851 and was a machine maker? If so this marriage to Mary looks like a second marriage. There is a step daughter living with them Charlotte Roberts aged 32.
There is also a marriage at ukbmd.org.ukat Saddleworth St Chads in 1841 to a Mary Roberts formerley Smith Ref'ce CE243/1/205
let me know if this fits the bill and then I know that I am looking for the correct family
very best GAY

Thanks Gay. Yes, that is my John. And thanks for the information about Mary possibly having been married before.
As a machine maker what exactly would John have done?
