The 1911 census shows William Thomas Bennett born 1863, Camborne, Cornwall, Martha his wife born 1865, Camborne, Cornwall and two sons Samuel John born 1892 Camborne, Cornwall and Arthur James born 1899 in Pontypridd. They are in a 'van' in Market Place, Hyde. William is given as 'owner and exhibitor of a sideshow'. In Cornall the family was 'Bennetts'.
Family anecdote suggests they travelled with a fair and exhibited a working model of a Cornish tin mine.
There was a 3rd, eldest, son William Ernest who was my wife's gfather. He was born in Cornwall and died in Middlesbrough. William Thomas and Martha also died in Middlesbrough in the mid 1940's.
Family anecdote says 'we used to visit Arthur in Manchester', this would have been in the late 1950s(ish).
Sadly contact has been lost. If anyone has access to local papers was there anything about the fair around 1911? What happenned to the 2 sons - I cant see them in WW1 records or later BMD
I loose the family after 1892 in Cornwall until 1911 in Manchester. Presumably travelling in 1901 and in Pontypridd in 1899 when Arthur was born. I have tried fairground FH sites - no luck. Any info appreciated.

I was looking trough the archives in the library today and took the opportunity to search the North Cheshire Herald for anything related to either the fair or your family. The 1911 census was on Sunday 2nd April so I only looked a couple of weeks either side of that date. I'm afraid I found nothing.
