Hello, Can someone cast their eyes over this and see if I've missed anything please? I have the 1911 census showing James William Gilbey in Ashton born 1883 in Leeds. I have his marriage in 1904 showing his father to be Daniel Gilbey a woodturner. James' age is given as 23 making a 1881 dob. I cannot find either Daniel or James William in 1901 or 1891. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi LindyLou,
I have found Daniel and family in Dukinfield in 1901 minus James - can't find James anywhere.
I have found the whole family in Northumberland in 1891 under the name GILBOY. This time James W says he was born at York.
I have found Daniel and wife Ellen living in Leeds in 1881 with his widowed mother Mary. Mary born Ireland.
No trace in 1871, but in 1861 Daniel aged 10 months with mum Mary and father Michael a hawker born Ireland.
I can send images off list.

Thanks very much Gay that's a great help I appreciate your efforts. Freebmd confirms James born York so why he decided it was Leeds in 1911 goodness knows! I found a marriage for Daniel Gilboy to Ellen Gargin in 1876 Bradford which matches the name you found on 1881. I'll keep plodding on. Thanks again
