I have my mum's family dating back to the early 1700's in the Hurst area of Ashton.
Does anyone know what schools they would have attended along the years.
My grandfather and his father all lived on (Lower) King Street in Hurst. Earlier generations were farmers from Hazelhurst.
I am also coming to a dead end finding a couple of maiden names - so any advice would be great? My first brick wall is Thomas Hague's (1806 - 1884) wife - all I have is 'Ann'(b. abt 1806)?? I've searched the IGI... but can't find anything in the Hurst area? She appears in the 51, 61, 71 and 81 census's. I thought if I could find her death... and a grave inscription it may throw some light on who she was? Or if anyone had access to baptisms for one of their children, it may give a clue? Matthew was baptised at St.Michael's on 18 Jan 1835, if anyone has access to those records?
