Does anyone have ready access to the 1901 census details for Godley? I live in Canada so it is a bit out of my reach except for routine data from web services.
I hope that someone can find for me who is recorded in the census at 254 Mottram Road Godley and what their occupation was.
This address is on my father's birth certificate (July 1900) as his place of birth, but I have found it nowhere else in the family records. The family (including my dad) is recorded in Gee Cross in 1901.

Many thanks for the information. Now I am more confused since I have no idea who these folks are or their relationship to my father. In other words, a typical genealogical solution: one new key piece of information and two new questions. Regards, Edwin

Hi, It always works that way doesn't it! Perhaps they moved more or less immediately after he was born. I had a look for that address on the 1891 Census bit it doesnt seem to exist . Mottram Rd didnt have many numbers then so perhaps it was a newish house in 1900s. I did only look on the Gee Croos part of the census though - there wasnt a separate one this time for Godley.
