Hi .. I have an old photo of a stage door entrance and I was told it may well be the Tameside Hippodrome in Ashton,,It would have been taken 1944/1946 ish .Might anyone reconise it from the past or even the present ...A lady said she reconised it as she use to use a carpark in Cotton St Aston ..To find the location would greatly help my family research .. Hello Dave,
Yesterday I walked past Tameside Theatre in Ashton and had a very good look at the stage door and the whole of the Cotton Street length of the side of the Theatre.
I definitely think you can rule this one out, because I looked at the lintels over the doorways and none of them were arched. The ones at Tameside Theatre were heavy and rectangular.
I'm afraid it's back to needle in a haystack:(
