Sometimes a long-shot gets lucky. One name I tried in A2A was the man a sister of my paternal g.father married, and it came up in Gtr M/cr archives. Their daur, b. 1913, had deposited family photos with the archives, something we should all think about but for the staff being overloaded with prints. She had identified individuals, so I now have group photos that include my g.grandmother, taken in 1913.
Archives will send thumbnails of any pics you may think of interest, and charge for each proper scan of those you select.
Incredible luck but rare, I suspect.
Brian.

Hi susivale
As you probably know, the BMD Index has four couples whose marriages are registered at Hayfield in the June 1850 quarter. Any combination is possible, but from information in later censuses the only possible marriage partners for Bridget Dolan are either Joseph Bowden or Charles Hollinwood.
It looks as though a case of transcriber error has caused your GRO problem because her husband turns out to be Charles ‘Hollingworth’ (b 1821, County Monaghan, Ireland). This is how it works out.
The 1841 census for Derbyshire has two people called Bridget Dolan, one of whom (b 1822) lived and married in Derby (1845).
Your Bridget Dolan (b 1826) lived and married in Glossop (1850). Her family in the 1841 census is as follows
Hugh Dolan b 1803 – Ireland Mary Dolan b 1801 - Ireland Bridget Dolan b 1826 - Oldham Mary Ann Dolan b 1828 Catherine Dolan b 1833 James Dolan b 1836 Elizabeth Dolan b 1839
Husband Charles is absent, but I know from my own history that male family members were often lodging away from home for weeks at a time as they followed the work up and down the country.
Although several dates of birth are different in the subsequent 1851 census, the match of names is unlikely to be coincidence and it’s probably a problem more related to numeracy difficulties.
Hugh Dolan (Head) b 1785 – Corfen, Ireland Mary Dolan (Wife) b 1801 - Ireland Bridget Culivan (Married daughter) b 1820 - Oldham Mary Ann Dolan (daughter) b 1834 - Glossop Catherine Dolan (Daughter) b 1834 - Glossop James Dolan (son) b 1836 - Glossop Elizabeth Dolan (Daughter) b 1839 – Glossop Mary Culivan (grand-daughter) b 1849 – Glossop Mary Dolan (niece) b 1831 - Ireland
The 1871 census is where the evidence of mis-spelling comes to light. Bridget’s widowed brother, James Dolan, turns up living with Bridget and her family near Cricket’s Lane in Ashton under Lyne, and that’s how I found that her married name was Hollingworth. The family is:
Charles Hollingworth (Head) b 1815 - County Monaghan, Ireland Bridget Hollingworth (wife) b 1826 – Oldham Mary Hollingworth(daughter) b 1849 – Glossop Ann Hollingworth (daughter) b 1854 – Glossop Jane Hollingworth (daughter) b 1859 – Ashton under Lyne James Hollingworth (son) b 1861 – Ashton under Lyne Charles Hollingworth (son) b 1864 – Ashton under Lyne Eliza Hollingworth (daughter) b 1867 – Ashton under Lyne John Hollingworth (son) b 1871 – Ashton under Lyne James Dolan (uncle) b 1838 - Glossop
It would next be logical to assume that by using the second name ‘Hollingworth’, Bridget can be traced right back to her marriage in 1851.
However, there are a couiple of puzzles revealed in the 1851 census (details above) where Bridget is still living with her parents. Although she's now married, her married name is listed as ‘Culivan’ and with the best will in the world, I can’t see how it could be confused with either ‘Hollinwood’ or ‘Hollingworth’.
The 1851 census also identifies her daughter Mary as ‘Culivan’, but Mary's birth is registered as Mary ‘Cullawin’. I’m assuming that Mary (b 1849 Glossop) was born out of wedlock, later adopting the Hollingworth family name because she’s still with the family in 1871.
In 1881 the couple are living at 16 Binns Street, Dukinfield and again, there is a discrepancy in their dates of birth (Bridget b 1830 and Charles b 1827)
The only Tameside death for Bridget Hollingworth is in 1893 (Ashton Town, AST/107/45) and although her age is given as 50, maybe that doesn’t count for much in view of the family history with numbers ! There is a Tameside death record for Charles (aged 64, 1885, Dukinfield DUK/71/94)
Hope all this helps with the GRO enquiry.
