Hi. I've been checking out a link in my tree this morning and noticed a future couple living next door to each other in 1911; one at 16 half moon and the other next door at 14 half moon. I decided to check Google maps to see where it was but not unusually or surprisingly, I couldn't find it.
Which begs the question - does anyone else know where is used to be? Maybe you have a map of it scanned in somewhere? Gay I've seen it mentioned around the board in a few places but of course that doesn't mean you know it necessarily but if you do, would appreciate some info.
Thank you kindly. Nick (Manchester)

Hi mancuniannick
I found the place a few years ago. You would have found Half Moon at the top of Crescent Road, next to the Astley Arms pub at 1 Chapel Hill, Dukinfield. These were two crescents of housing facing each other across what is now Foundry Street
For a map, have a look at the instructions for 'e-mapping Victorian Cheshire' I gave to Alison in June in response to her enquiry about ‘Newton Wood House’. In your case, the postcode to enter is SK16 4BT. Once in there, use the 'tithe map' option (about 1851) for the highest definition picture.

Hi again
On the off-chance of finding a photo, I just looked at the Tameside Immage Archive for Half Moon and found several. Just google 'Tameside Image Archive' and follow the instructions. To save, click 'preview' and then 'save picture as'.
