Hello everyone
Does anyone know how I can find the last resting place of my g-grandfather, Thomas Bygott and his wife Mary Ann Bygott? He died on 10th December 1907 at 44 Hanover Street South, Audenshaw aged 71, and she died 13th February 1924 at 148 Audenshaw Road, Audenshaw aged 80. It seems likely that they were buried in Audenshaw but I can't find them in the Tameside online records. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Phil

You know the relevant dates so, unless anyone else has a better idea, I should think the most reliable route is just to ask the staff at the BMD Registrar's office at Dukinfield Crem.

Hi everyone
I took Woody's advice and went to Dukinfield Crem. to check the burial registers for Audenshaw, Denton etc. Couldn't find my relatives despite having dates etc. Staff at the Crem suggested that I try local churchyard records. I've eventually found Thomas Bygott's burial at St Stephen's, Audenshaw in December 1907 in the same grave as his daughter and grandson. I believe that all the headstones have been removed from St Stephen's. Does anyone know if headstone inscriptions were recorded before the stones were removed?
Thanks
Phil
