Hello Everyone I have been watching this website for a while and decided today to join. I am looking for any information on the Newmarket Tavern 108 King street in Dukinfield. I have recently found out that my grandparents owned it in 1950. Their names were George West and his wife Charlotte. If anyone has any information i would be most grateful. It has taken me 2 years to find the pub. I am so happy to be able to pass this on to my children.

Hi Kerry and welcome The Newmarket Tavern has been converted into flats. If you go the the following site and click on Greater Manchester, scroll down and you will find it. There is a photo of the Brewery name over the top of the door ( 'OPENSHAW BREWERY COMPANY') www.breweryhistory.com/Defunct/DefunctIndex.htmGinger
