New Photos page

I have created a group album with photobucket: password: tameside

At the moment I have just uploaded a couple of photos to test it. Everyone can view this page and everyone can upload their own photos to it, but you will have to register with photobucket.com first.

This is a very easy process and I will issue a set of instructions under a separate posting. Once registered you will be able to go back to our group page and upload your own photos at will. There are lots of other facilities with photobucket eg uploading short video clips and creating slideshows to share with friends.

As we get to understand all the various instructions and frequently asked questions etc I will post them on this board. Meanwhile just take a peek. You will have to use the password: tameside

Photobucket is excellent, I've paid for an account there for a few years. If you get short of space just yell, I've got quite a bit to spare.

Hello Mo,

A photo can be hosted anywhere and then a suitable link put into a forum message. There is a bandwith problem of uploading an image directly to this forum, because this is a free version. I would have to pay for a professional version to allow this.

I created the group album with Photobucket because their free version does have a lot of space for photos. Over the weekend I will put up some instructions for uploading to photobucket and then putting a link to it from this forum.

I hope that people will use it for precisely the reason your Canadian friend wants to identify their photo.

Gay, is anything wrong with Photobucket? It keeps crashing whatever I do, either joining or viewing your site.
Maybe it's covered in snow.

Thanks, Gay, I've been on before but it was very unhappy on Wednesday. Now back to normal and even allowed me to join. You must have brushed the snow off - how about some pics of Stalybridge in 3 feet of snow, non-FH?
