Hi Kenmos If you haven't yet found it, the Cheshire BMD website (www.cheshirebmd.org.uk)has numerous listings for 'Dundavan' in all categories. The births are first registered in the 1860s, with marriages and deaths each not until the 1880s/ 1890s. That suggests the families' settled here but their pre-1870 origins are elsewhere. There's also a single-name study on the Dundavan name at www.one-name.org/profiles/dunbabin.html which might provide you with wider background references. There seems to be an extensive range of alternative spellings which probably isn't good news for your research. Cheers Woody
