Hi all
Just wondering if anyone can help with my searches? I am hitting a brick wall with my paternal Grandfather's (Frank Heyworth b. 1915) ancestry. I believe his maternal Grandmother was an Elizabeth Trewren who married his Grandfather, Thomas Walter Walker on 16th Feb 1878 in Hurst, Tameside (Ref:CE14/1/338).
All my research on the Trewren family keeps leading me back to the Parish of Ludgvan, Cornwall but I am struggling to pin down the exact Elizabeth Trewren there. This is an extremely rare surname and as far as I am aware there are only 10-20 instances of it in the whole of the UK in the Censuses between 1841-1881! So I would have thought this shouldn't be too difficult?
If anyone has any more information on the Trewren family I would be grateful for any input.
Kind regards in advance
Jason

Do you have the marriage cert for Thomas Walter Walker to Elizabeth? If so could you post her age and dad's name and occupation? If you could post whatever info you have and steps you have taken that would help to determine where the brickwall might be.

looking at the 1881 census it has them living in Hope street Dukinfield with her mother Grace( a widow). also there Elizabeths sister and brother. Grace was born in Redruth Cornwall. it has Elizabeth born in St. Blazey Cornwall.

Jane
Wonderful detective work. Thank you so much, I have been very busy with research at work lately and become distracted. Also more research is usually last thing I feel in the mood for when I get home, then people turn up little gems like this and I'm hooked all over again. I feel another late night coming on!!!
Regards, Jason

Hi Jane
Thank you for finding Joseph & Grace Trewren on the 1871 Census. I wonder if you could tell what Joseph's/Grace's occupation was/were listed as? This may help me discover why the whole family moved up from Cornwall to Tameside!
Many thanks
Jason
