For sometime now Tameside burieal records have only listed fairly recent records on line from it's website. ➸ linkEvery time i phone up to ask when are all the records are going to be back online and searchable, they tell me they don't know and nothing to do with them but they are happy for people to come and search through the records at Registrar's Office, Dukinfield Cemetery. That is ok if you live in the area but not for others who have to travel? Does anyone know when they will be available again or where to ask to get a useful answer? M&SFHF

This was a very useful resource and why they started to mess with it I don't know and like you I've never had a satisfactory answer about when it will be up and running. My own thought is that either their is no longer funding or no longer the staff to do it. I also think it'll never get done. Sorry to be so negative. However the good news is that Dukinfield Cemetery office still have the data base so if you have a name and a year of death they will give you all the info you need. They've even e-mailed a plan of the relevant cemetery. Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for your reply lindylou. Sadly i found that when you phone up they will only give you details if you have the exact date of death. Also they don't give you full details of all in the grave. Just told "You are welcome to come and search the records for your self at our office". So if you live out of the area or country, you really don't stand much of a chance.

I think you may have been unlucky so I'm sorry to hear that. I got all the info I asked for. Tell me who you're looking for I'll see if I can help.
